The collection also traces the ties between de Chirico’s imagery, Sicilian culture and architecture, and his own family roots on the island.
Giorgio de Chirico. Il sole della Metafisica brings together around 50 works by the master of Metaphysical art. The collection explores a world of Mediterranean light, elongated shadows and silent piazze, where familiar architectural forms acquire an elusive, dreamlike presence.
The exhibition also considers de Chirico’s connections with Sicily: the island’s culture and architecture, and the family roots that link the artist personally to its landscapes and visual character. This context offers a focused way of looking at the motifs and atmosphere that recur throughout his imagery.
