Fontane Bianche is a beach resort area on Sicily’s southeastern coast, around 15 km south of Syracuse. Its main coastal road, Viale dei Lidi, runs alongside the broad sweep of Fontane Bianche Beach in the province of Syracuse.
The beach extends for roughly 1.2 to 3 km of fine white sand, set within a sheltered bay between pale cliffs. Calm, gently sloping turquoise water makes it particularly well suited to children and to unhurried swimming.
The name Fontane Bianche means ‘white fountains’, a reference to the numerous freshwater springs that rise from the seabed. These springs help keep the surrounding water exceptionally clear, adding to the beach’s distinctive character.
Fontane Bianche is a straightforward coastal destination rather than a secluded cove, with the resort’s activity centred along Viale dei Lidi. Access to the beach is free, and no booking is required.
