Within the Vendicari Nature Reserve, in the province of Syracuse, Calamosche Beach is a 200-metre cove of fine sand, framed by two headlands. Their shelter helps keep the crystal-clear water consistently calm, giving the beach an invitingly tranquil character.
Calamosche is widely regarded as one of Sicily’s finest beaches. In 2005, Legambiente’s Blue Guide awarded it the title of Italy’s most beautiful beach, a distinction that reflects its setting as much as the clarity of its sea.
The beach lies at Contrada Vendicari, near Noto, in the Libero consorzio comunale di Siracusa. It is within the reserve and free to visit; booking is not required.
