The Temple of Apollo is one of the most important ancient Greek monuments of Magna Graecia, standing on Ortygia in front of Piazza Pancali. The Temple of Apollo stands on Ortigia, in front of Piazza Pancali, greeting visitors as they enter the oldest part of Syracuse. Its ruins are among the most important ancient Greek monuments of Magna Graecia.

Built in the early sixth century BC, it was one of the first temples erected by the Greeks in Syracuse. The remains offer a compelling glimpse of the city’s earliest monumental architecture.

The temple is regarded as the oldest Doric temple in Sicily and the oldest stone temple in the West, giving this modest-looking archaeological site an exceptional historical significance.

Located at Via dell’Apollonion, the Temple of Apollo is free to visit and does not require booking.
